Privacy Policy

Dots is designed to let you play without sharing your personal information.

In short

Dots does not use analytics, ads, or trackers. Playing against the computer or with a friend on the same device never leaves your device. Online mode stores an anonymous identifier and your moves in Firebase only to run that match.

Data on your device

Your language, sound, and game settings, along with any unfinished game, are stored in the app's data on your device. Depending on your device settings, the operating system may include this data in a system backup. The developer cannot access those backups. Uninstalling the app removes its local data; you can manage backups in your device or cloud account settings.

Online mode

Playing online uses Firebase, a Google service. Starting or joining an online game creates an anonymous identifier for that device and stores it, together with the moves of that game, in Firebase's Realtime Database — only so the app can keep the match in sync between you and your opponent, who sees you only as "Opponent". There are no accounts, usernames, or sign-in with your name or email, and the identifier is not linked to your identity or used for advertising.

No analytics, ads, or tracking

The app has no analytics, ads, trackers, or third-party SDKs that collect data for advertising or profiling — including in online mode, where Firebase is used only to run your match, as described above.

Network access

Playing against the computer or with a friend on the same device does not need a network connection. Online mode needs an internet connection to reach Firebase and connect you with your opponent. The Dots website also opens when you choose Contacts from the app menu.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, or third-party scripts.

Children

The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. Online mode's anonymous identifier, described above, is not linked to a real identity.
